Responsibilities

Current
The anti-fascism RefRat is concerned with radical-right and regressive tendencies, groups and individuals at the Humboldt University in Berlin.
In addition to research and monitoring activities, the Department publishes its findings and organizes events to highlight the manifestations mentioned above. To fulfill this task contact with the relevant groups is held outside the university.
The university is considered a part of society by the RefRat and not as an intellectual free zone of radical-right and neo-fascist manifestations.

History

The department initiates and promotes the critical examination of the history of the Humboldt University in Berlin in the period before and during National Socialism.
Among other things, the RefRat supports relevant university events during the weeks of May for the annual reminder and remembrance organized by the “HUmmel-antifa”, an anti-fascist group of the Humboldt University in Berlin. [The programs for the events are available at www.maiwoche.de.vu.]. The RefRat also address issues of university history in Nazi Germany, dealing with fascism and racism at the
university today.
